Generally, 2-3 treatment sessions over a 10 week period may be necessary to obtain the desired results. It may take as many as 6 treatments for patients with severe facial volume loss. Dr. Biskin will decide on the appropriate number of treatment sessions and the amount of Sculptra® required at each session.

Each Sculptra® treatment session generally takes about 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the number of areas needing treatment and the effects desired.

Prior to injections, a topical anesthetic is generously applied to the skin. An ultra-fine needle is utilized and injections are combined with a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort.

No. After your first treatment visit, it may appear that Sculptra® worked immediately because of swelling from the injections and the water used to dilute Sculptra®. In a few days, when the swelling goes down and the water is absorbed by your body, you may look as you did before your treatment. Sculptra® takes time to gradually correct the depressions in your skin by stimulating natural collagen production, creating long lasting results. Dr. Biskin will see you again in a few weeks to decide if more Sculptra® is required.

Treatment effects differ from person to person. In many cases, treatment results can last for up to 2 years. Touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired effect.
